JOHAN PETRI

by August Strindberg. Written in 1869 this is the first play Strindberg wrote, 21 years old.

A young man is breaking lose from the conformity of Christian morality and reacting against religious hypocrisy, and against the repression of a free spirit. The performance is interspersed with comments and reflections by the contemporary Swedish writer Stig Larsson.

 

This production is the world premiere of this play.
